saturday night...last day of Feb...and

what a month it has been weatherwise...from 0 to above 60 all in one month...snowstorms....wind , rain and hail...we have seen it all this month...
We were forecast to get 4 inches of snow (Then maybe we would..)))I think it has went around us or below us...It was suppose to start snowing after 6 but havent seen any as of yet and it is after 10p.m..

Had a birthday party for the 7 year old today...just cake and ice cream...and a few cousins were here....which would be my gr-babies...they had a good time..and my house is living proof of it..I picked up the 6month old on the way out of town and he has been pretty good today...slept all day til a little after 5 then i fed and changed him and he stayed awake til about 8 p.m.,,,now he is fast asleep again..I guess I will take him home tomorrow when I take the 7 year old home...or I may keep him a while longer ..havent really decided....I thought I would be snowed in and I would just keep him..As long as I dont run out of formula and diapers I am ok...

My youngest brother called today..actually he is the last born...and he said his daughter had her baby today...little girl...mother and daughter are doing fine..ok...this is a short post ...just wanted to make an appearance....and by the way...

just for my own sake of remembering I will have to say that I ordered me a new Dell computer yesterday....This one I am on has 40 gigs and the new one will have 500..this one has 512 memory and the new one will have 4gigs...There is really not anything wrong with this one..It just runs slow because of the memory amount and wont hold anything........ok....gone again....

a damn big mess he has gotten into ......Poor President Obama...Trying to undo what the president of the past 8 years has swallowed the country up in....A recession....Never thought I would see one in my years...but here it is..The U.S. has succumbed to foreign countries doing most of the work for us which now put the economy in the worst predicament it has ever been in....We have more people unemployed,,,auto sales have gone to Hell and back..not to mention banks,business's,
industry,home foreclosures,those among many others have seen the rise and finally fall of what was giants in their own fields..
If the President can make a dent in any way to fix our economy
it would take a miracle from him and we the people..Actually I believe that the poor cant get any poorer but the rich seem to get richer....doesn't make sense....If Obama holds everyone accountable and responsible for all the money grants they received it might in time make a difference,ceo's included...The guy means well and sounds like he is going to work to help the middle and lower class but that remains to be seen...Will the United States rise again...I say it can...but will take longer then what the years the President has to work with...This administration is going to do their damn est to repair it....Good Luck...I must admit..I love listening to him and his address's..seems like he can captivate you with his words...
Didn't get to see all of his live broadcast but they are interesting.....til next time.....

I am sick

of winter....I have had enough...seems like the only thing mother nature can do is tease us with a few warm days then slam us with yet another storm...Yesterday and today are bone chilling days...the ones with the windchill and blowing wind with them...I honestly don't know how my poor animals survive..I don't believe the St. Bernard even gets cold with all that hair...but I cant help but think that my poor little piggys do..The hair on their backs stands up about 4 inches..they look like miniature porcupines...but wirely thin,,and neither one will keep the straw in their boxes...they shove it all to the outside...and keep their tattered blankets inside which couldn't be warm....go figure ...animals..you gotta love'em....
The temps are suppose to be in the 30's today and 51 tomorrow and 55 Thursday with rain...Right now I will take the rain over the snow...least it has to be warmer to rain...

Guess I will take the little one back home today...Didn't take him home yesterday because the whole city of Parkersburg was and still is under a boil advisory ..that means adding bleach to the water you use...so these kids mother decided to let them stay here...We thought they would cancel schools but they are supplying bottled water and hand sanitizer to make it through...Some foreign object running through the water system from a broken line...so its contaminated..

Well....today is my older then me but in better shape..well not right at this time with her knee bummed up...sister in La's birthday...Lets see,,,I'm 35 so she must be 38 or somewhere close...How's that for staying young...Of course ,,,we Italians seem to stray a little bit from the truth anyways...Of course if you are Catholic you don't have to worry about it..Isn't that the way it is...Raise hell all week then repent on the weekend...
Maybe that's not the way all Catholics are but I've seen enough of them that do just that so I'm beginning to think that as far as religion goes......Go Catholic...Whatever wrong doing you do thru the week is wiped away when you go to confession on the weekend.Now how in the name of heaven did I get over on the subject of religion from wishing my older but in better shape,well not at this time with her bummed up knee,, sister in La's a Happy Birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY ..HAPPY BIRTHDAY.....HPPAY BDATHIRY........HAPPYA BIRTHDAYA.

Oh,, the joys of getting old..I must say ,,it is a little different..You don't wake up wondering what you are going to do today or make plans for the weekend....You just take it one day at a time and consider yourself lucky if you even got to make it out of bed,,,,oh...Life can be a beach....and I guess you are on a down hill slide when you get on the other side of 50..I mean those people that are...not here..not this girl in the mid-thirties...NOW...DONT everyone fall off their chairs on that one.
Taxes..Haven't done mine yet...Seems like everyone is in a rush to do theirs as soon as those w-2's arrive ..not me...I tend to wait until near the due date ..being that I don't get anything back anyways...I think we should be able to file for what we have lost in our mutual funds and investments...to hell with the stimulus money they gave us...oh well...such is life...

ok...there just isn't nothing going on in my neck of the woods.I cant believe that I am going to town today..Its Tuesday..I hate going to town on Tuesdays...Friday and Sat. and Sun...Tuesday is Senior day and everyone is crawling out of the woodwork to get their senior discount...Fridays is pay day so all the working peoples better halves are out grocery shopping and Saturday and Sunday the whole dang family goes to town as a family....I like hump day...and snow days...The winter forecasts of snow brings people out that never existed before to stock up on their groceries....And I mean they act like they are going to be without for weeks...Everything is scarfed up off the shelves..Oh well....As long as I have toilet paper and bread..I am happy..

I am sitting here freezing my butt off..thinking about going in on the couch and curling up under my warm blanket til daylight hits....Computers ..They sure don't make it for you to be comfortable on them...How can you ..sitting at a desk in an office chair that makes you squirm around,,,by the time I get up and leave ,,my legs are shaky,,my back hurts,,,I'm stiff and I feel like I need a chiropractor,,,which I've never been their either...Ok...done decided I am going to hit the couch again..I'm sleepy...We have one of those big around couches and the 6 year old is scared of his own shadow so he sleeps on one end and I get the other...That way I can see the tv all night and half ass watch tv..so HAPPY BIRTHDAY again to my older but in better shape then me sis,,except for her bummed up knee...

I'm off to the couch for a few more zzzzzzzzzzzzzz'z..

to be going to Mardi Gras....Huh....Thats what my sis in La. posted that she is off to a parade...I like parades....The bands is what I like best...music music music....I've never been to Mardi Gras...Must be like a Chinese New Year where they celebrate....

It is a pretty day...sun shining bright,,, cold..bit windy but temps are in the 30's..another heat wave before the snow starts that we are suppose to be get starting tonight with 2-3 inches by Monday...Im ready for the green grass to show...the trees are starting to bud...and by this time next month...spring will be officially here...ok...this is a short blog..nothing to say...been busy around the house all week so I forget to blog... can't keep ahead of the dust...I can write my name in it...but it will be this way till after the wood stove is shut down for the winter,,,,all the dust seems to drift upstairs...can' wait til I can open the doors ...I hate closed doors.....

Another blustery day in the 12 acre woods...It is a no coat weather day..Its amazing how the temperatures are only in the 40's but it feels like a summer day after all the subzero days we have had.
Now..any other 40ish day I would be freezing but it just feels good with the sun shining.........Our driveway has dried up with all the wind but as soon as it rains it will be a muddy mess again...One of the big rains we had a while back took all our gravel and shoved it all down to the bottom of the hill which made it bare in the middle where we needed it most..So needless to say we will have to re gravel our driveway...another job among all the others there is to do...

It was a long but fast day today...I headed in to town to take the little one back to his parents..
After dropping him off I headed up to the school to the 6 year olds Valentines party....The joy of little people ...They are all so nice,,,and of course they don't forget anything so as soon as they see me its "HI Moose" from 20 first graders....And of course I have my camera...I cant believe that no other parent even had a camera ....I carry one in my pocket book...never know when you get a chance for a good picture shot...Usually when you find a good shot you don't have a camera with you...So I took care of that....

Its Friday the 13th..Not that I am superstitious but its just the thought if something does go wrong ,,,you can just blame it on the presumption that something is suppose to go wrong because its FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH and the bright side is,,,there is two more Friday the 13ths this year......so far ,,so good..I made it back to town in one piece....Dropped off my little fella and picked up the 6 year old...He is suppose to go to the Ohio University basketball game tomorrow with the man in the houses sister and her husband....that is if he doesn't change his mind by then.....He is kinda hesitant of going without one of us tagging along....So,,I may get a little piece and quiet for a little bit tomorrow while he is gone...If not,,I definitely will Monday cause it will be back to school for this one...I will miss the little one...He's quite a bit of company ...is a little more time consuming to take care of but its worth it..BABIES ARE GREAT.
Especially the ones that come for a short time then go home ...and you can pick and choose when you want this one....
Not much happening on the ol farm...The temps are suppose to keep dropping and a lot colder by Sunday..Maybe snow.....whopee.........hope not....I'm so ready for spring..I'm ready for greener pastures.........and I'm sure my animals are too...The walk pond was froze solid during the ice storm that we had and I figured our little fish would be minced fish...but I have seen 4 so far...Don't know how they live in the frozen ice but they did...
ok..got to jump off here....i'm hungry ,,,sitting here eating on mixed nuts...cinnamon almonds and cranberry pecans....26 0z..worth..yum,,yum...a Walmart special...markdown price of 3 bucks from 9 bucks....I love nuts....I've ate 3lbs of pistachios and this makes my second tray of this kind in one week....I can eat nuts from the time I get up till the time I go to bed and I usually do...I hate it that you cant buy those bags of mixed nuts that they only sell at Christmas time any other time of the year...Makes you kind of hesitant about eating the peanuts but I have been anyway.....Don't know when they will get this peanut scare straightened up...It sure hasn't stopped people from buying peanut butter,,,including me...I bought a jar of Skippy last week but haven't opened it yet..waiting to see if they pull it...
ok..enough of this post....got to go strip my bed...Its filled up with baby blankets and pillows...wash day tomorrow......laterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

a pooh day

It's a Pooh day in the 12 acre woods.........A wet ,blustery ,windy,dreary day..I can still hear the wind howling outside...It is not as bad as last night...Around 6ish we started to get hit by the rain and high winds that we don't normally get around here...I felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz waiting for the roof to come off the house...The first go around was a little much ..We had just finished eating...I was warming up a piece of apple pie so i could have ice cream and pie..yum yum,,,,and all of a sudden the wind started howling ,,,things were blowing around outside ,,,it was lightening and thundering....so I grabbed my pie...hurriedly threw some ice cream on it..fixed a bottle for the baby ,,stuck a diaper and a flashlight in my pocket ,,then ran ,,,well hobbled in the living room and scooped the baby up off the living room floor and proceeded down the stairs into the basement..We sat in the basement watching out the windows not able to see anything but big sheets of rain and the wind blowing it sideways.....well,our electric flicked off and on three times and we just knew it was going to go ...to our surprise it came back on and woo hoo ...stayed on...The storm continued for about 15-20 minutes then moved on through...They said it would move thru quick but in the aftermath we would have high winds til 6a.m. this morning ...well this morning the wind is howling and it is still dark so I haven't been able to see out and see whats what...
All I know is ,,,i did not want to go thru one more night of no electric....It was a high of 74degrees yesterday but overnight the temperatures dropped to the 30's...
The baby couldn't figure out the lightening flashes and the thunder....
My mother always said that "The angels made God mad and that's where the thunder comes in.."..Someone else said ..."When its thundering ,they are bowling in heaven..."Is that not silly or what....Personally I don't know where it comes in at,,I just know I don't like the lightening...I kinda like to hear the thunder...
OK..There is power all out in different places in WVa ,Ohio and Kentucky again..I'm just glad ours stayed on....and on that note I think I am going to crawl back in bed with the baby....The wind is suppose to be 40 mile an hour til 5p.m this evening and that's pretty gusty for us that never hardly gets any...They did have a tornado watch out............and I'm out of here.............later..

rain rain go away

Its going on 11p.m..,,,and I was sleepy and ready to hit the sack as soon as I got the baby down..now I am wide awake so thought I would post a bit...What a nasty day...Rained about all day...temps were in the high 50's and right now it is still 51 outside...I ran a few errands while in town ,,met the boys gr-mother which would be my ex-sister-in-law and we run to a couple stores...I needed to pick up groceries but never made it to Walmart...I had to get my piggy some food and my sheep some corn so I opted to do that first in case I ran out of time or got tired ...well getting tired came first....It is no fun at all toting a baby around especially when I have such a bad knee and arthiritis in my lower back...that darn carrier must weigh 10 lb. and the weight of him combined with it I must be toting around 35 pounds..
He is such a plesant baby...grins all the time..I really like having him around...He don't give me any shit except when he fills his diaper...the bigger brother mouths back all the time and this one cant say a word....
It started raining quite heavy around 4 p.m. so I decided to hit the dusty trail and start home.
I sure didnt want to tote the baby around in the rain...I always try to park near the cart holders so I can grab one and put him in as soon as I get out of the van..
The are calling for wind gusts up to 60 mile and hour tomorrow so guess I will stay home and hope I dont end up like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz if they get that bad......our house will definitely feel it on this high hilll ,,Ok,,,sleepy again so I am going to lay down...later gators.

recuperating from the weekend..

Tuesday morning already and I still have the 6 month old...........

I think i am still recuperating from the weekend....It was pretty hectic ,,,a 7,6,3,6months and 3 month old all here...had a small party for the 7 year old which was my gr-daughter...only had big cookie and cupcakes..they forgot about icecream and all by the time she opened her gifts..of course i had a gift for the 3 and 6 year old so everyone was happy and had something to do to keep them occupied for the rest of the time they were here...

It was a beautiful day Sunday...had doors open and windows....kids wanted to play outside but after the ice and snow thawed it is nothing but muddddddddd outside....so they had to stay in.

Ok. .I am going to have to make this a short post...I want to be in town around 10ish so I am going to jump in a long shower........................another post ...another time.

saturday 3:30 a.m.

ok...its almost 3:30 a.m. going into Sunday morning......I am trying to get to bed because I have a lot to do tomorrow with my gr-baby coming down and we are going to have a little birthday party for her since I was homebound last week with no electric and the roads being iced up....Like I said I'm trying to get to bed....Of all nights for this little one not to want to go to bed..this had to be it....It probably had something to do with running around with him all day and not getting his nap times like he usually gets...He was awake a good bit today...Nosy little cuss..doesn't want to miss a thing when he is out and about..We took the 6 year old bowling and the baby couldnt make out the bowling alley with all its loud music and bright lights and the banging of the pens when the ball hit them...He's really good most of the time ...but I guess we all have our days where we cant sleep and my down time is going to be very few hours since its getting later and later...I plan on getting off here in at least 4 minutes and hitting the sack.....

It was a beautiful day here in the 100-88 hundred acre woods....It was still 64 degrees at 10p.m. tonight..no wood stove tonight..as a matter of fact I turned off the heat today..It was 51 at 10 oclock this morning...The six year old went out to ride his 4 wheeler and I mean he was covered with mudd from head to foot..no kidding....I had to make him strip on the outside porch....Of course he can find every mudd hole coming and going..And do you think he could walk around them..NOoooooooo...that is far too simple and easy...It's like water and mudd calls him...

O.k my four minutes are up...Im not even going to spell check this ,,Im off to bed before the baby gets up...another day ,,,another time..........

Thursday Morning 2/5/2009

It's a bright crisp colder then a well diggers butt morning here in the 100-88 hundred acre woods..........The temperature is in the single digits and not suppose to be much warmer today,,, Thank goodness we have our electric back on and this last storm went south on us and hit the southern part of the state so we escaped the brunt of it...and tomorrow it is suppose to be 40...Saturday 55 and in the 60's all next week...

can't wait,can't wait....

It's so peaceful once again out here in the rural countryside...no more humming or (out here it sounded more like a roaring ) of generators echoing back and forth from the hills and hollows....no more crackling and snapping of branches falling from the trees.......They say we need a cold winter like this to kill off the bugs for the summer...wellll,,,I hope it hit every nook and cranny and none of them make it back..would suit me just fine....a bug less summer..wouldn't that be too nice beyond words..........

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHECHE...yesterday was my oldest sisters birthday...I think she said 62 although we hurriedly both agreed we don't feel as old as we sound..Other then my screwed up knee I feel pretty good....could be worse....I definitely have to quit talking to the La. sis that is going to have knee surgery cause I forgot to tell her when i talked to her this morning that I had a terrible dream last night..I dreamed I had to have a leg amputated......yuk,,,or maybe it was from watching the Today show yesterday morning and seeing the woman with two young girls that had to have all four limbs amputated....and we think we have problems...I cant imagine ...and this woman had such a positive attitude...Guess it helps when you see someone far worse then the way you are and then you realize you are in pretty good shape compared to some people......You just feel sorry for them....too bad our bodies have to take such abuse ...should be made to repel anything that would cut,,maim,or cause abuse to the body....it would be different if we had nine lives like a cat....and speaking of cats..I'd say my cat has used up several of his ( hers.).whatever the case is..I think hes a boy but my youngest gr-daughter at the age of two started calling him Bella..so that is what we call him(her)...He (she ) goes cat hunting in the 12 acre woods and twice now he has come back all bloody from something getting a hold of him..somehow he manages to escape whatever is getting a hold of him..Now,,he is short a bunch of hair and has a hole behind one of his ears which came from whatever is getting a hold of him or maybe he met a female feline that is giving him a time of his life and making his little excursions to the woods worth it....haven't figured it out yet.....but he keeps going back for more of the same abuse, then again maybe its not abuse to him....maybe he likes it..



the sun is shining thru the window and feels so good hitting me right now..feel like I could curl back up and go to sleep but I have much to do because it is suppose to be in the 40s tomorrow and I plan on going to town...Ice should all be melted off my driveway...Today is suppose to be in the 20's ..not warm enough for me to venture to town and have to tote the little one with me..I'm watching my nieces baby which is the little 6 year olds brother that usually stays here...His parents went on a cruise..and wont be back til the 14th...so I am going to have fun the next week or so...so far he hasnt been that bad...He went to bed at 6 o'clock last night and I NEVER go to bed early but as soon as I called my sister in N.C. and wished her a Happy Birthday and then I went to bed thinking the little one was going to be up around midnite since he went to bed at 6 but he didnt so needless to say I just stayed in bed and didnt get up til the next morning...ok..i am outtt here for today..this post has given me enough trouble.....

THERE WAS TREES DOWN EVERY TEN FEET OR SO IN SOME AREAS ON OUR COUNTRY ROAD THAT THEY HAD TO CUT AWAY SO YOU COULD GET BY...THE INSTERSTATE HAD TREES DOWN IN PLACES ALL THE WAY TO TOWN AND BRANCHES WERE ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE...THE ONLY THING WITH THE BACK ROADS IS ..THESE TREES ARE ON HILLS YOU HAVE TO DRIVE ON AND THE TREES HANG OVER THE ROAD...AND THEY ARE OLD TREES AT THAT SO THEY UPROOT FROM THE GROUND.ANOTHER COUNTRY HAZAD YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT...

OK..IM GETTING COLD AND SLEEPY...I MAY HOBBLE DOWN TO THE BASEMENT WHERE THE WOOD STOVE IS AND SIT THERE FOR A FEW MINUTES..MAYBE CATCH A FEW WINKS IN THE WARMTH OF THE STOVE...AND THROW SOME MORE WOOD ON IT..HAVE TO KEEP WOOD ON IT CAUSE OUR WOOD IS WETR....SO IM OUTTA HERE..........

MY ANIMALS ARE RUNNING LOW ON FOOD SO I NEED TO GET TO THE STORE..I DONT WANT TO BUY TOO MUCH PERISABLES FOR US TIL I KNOW WHEN THE ELECTRIC IS GOING TO COME BACK ON....AS LONG AS I DONT RUN OUT OF BREAD...AND THE MAIN NECESSITY FOR ME....WHICH I HAD AND STILL HAVE PLENTY OF......TOILET PAPER....DONT EVER WANT TO RUN OUT OF THAT..WOULD BE UP THE CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE..BUT IM SAFE..

THE TREES HAVE UNTHAWED AND ACTUALLY THE ONES ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HOUSE FAIRED PRETTY GOOD..THE ONES TO THE LEFT LOST BRANCHES AND DONT LOOK AS GOOD AS THEIR COMRADES ON THE RIGHT BUT THEY WILL SURVIVE...THEY SAY THE STORM WE ARE SUPPOSE TO GET STARTING TODAY IS SUPPOSE TO HIT DC AND TRAVEL UP THE COAST LINE..I GUESS MY AUNT IN RHODE ISLAND MAY GET HIT THIS TIME..I HOPE NOT...I HATE BEING IN THE DARK.....

week with no electric,,HANNAHS BIRTHDAY

Hey...its Thursday....cant get on line so I thought I would sit here and type a long letter which may end up being a post on my blog because I cant get on line to do anything ...off line ,,yeah..

Well,,,after me making the last post Wednesday and saying I thought we were going to get spared the ice and outages...wham-bam...no sooner had I posted to my blog then it started snowing huge thick snowflakes...any other time I may have thought they would have been extremely pretty but not in the situation we were in already....everything on the Wednesday morning awake was frozen and iced down...my trees in the back of the house had snap ,crackled,pop and split away from the tree with branches broken off and fallen on the ground...my pine trees and willow trees looks like someone picked them up and shook them upside down....they are really grotesque looking as far as looking like a tree.....I'm hoping that when the ice melts that they can spring right back but I doubt that very seriously as they are in this heavy bowed down position for too long..already has been too long and they are predicting that we will not have electric until Sunday...It sucks trying to cook on a wood stove but hey,,at least we do have something to cook on and heat the house with...these people that are all electric are the ones that are going to have a hard time keeping warm...I just went out and fed my silly animals...2 p.m. And the little pig felt warm to my touch...her little feet look pink from the cold and the bigger pig is already pink so I cant tell if his feet are pink or not...must not be cold because he and the lamb(sheep) are out running around everywhere...the wind chill is 15 and my hands were froze when I did come back in.

We did get the generator up and running...so at least we do have TV........whoopeeee...and we have it hooked to lights in a few rooms ..three TV',,both up and down stairs..the refrigerator, and we alternate between the coffeepot and the electric griddle to cook on upstairs..the frig downstairs we took all the frozen food out and either put upstairs or in a basket on the upstairs porch as it is suppose to get to 9 degrees tonight.........not good..........Its funny how even soup and grilled cheese sure taste good when you cant get anything else to fix..I would like to have a bake potato but microwave takes too much electric to use..the wood stove was used to fix macaroni and cheese and bbq's yesterday...just want to start early or not be starved to death because that's a little more time consuming to cook that way..We are not in a ideal situation to be picky as far as when it come to eating because there is only so much you can fix with a griddle...we did have eggs and sausage this morning..and toast...My living room and the rest of the house looks like I am wired to be blown away any time...there is electric cords running every which direction...we are just trying to stay out of getting tangled in them..It is a little after noon on Thursday...it makes a long day not having electric..not too much you can do...need the electric to heat the hot water tank..so we don't have instant hot water..OK,,I am going to save this and take a break ...finish later...........

Subject: Friday morning..still no electric

o.k the dawning of a new morning didn't bring our electric back on just more snow..it is going on 10a.m...as I am typing away and stopped to look out the window it has started snowing and it is white as far as the eye can see from sky to ground...oh no.....they said we are suppose to get more snow...well.be darned....here it is...another Arctic cold front is suppose to be moving thru bringing more snow so of course our electric is going to be off for a while longer....only thing different about today is ..you have to admit,,,it is pretty but cold...the wind has picked up and now the tree tops are swaying back and forth....and the sun has finally shone.....now all the icicles (sp) are glistening and sparkly from the sun hitting them..I could welcome the prettiness if only it didn't affect my way of living...I do get out my little camera and take pictures ...I may enjoy looking at them more in the middle of the summer when it is 99plus temperatures...if only it would get warmer then the 29 they are predicting it might melt some of the ice..but then again...the snow has accumulated another 2-3 inches and still coming down..the ice is somewhere about 3 layers down...talk about being deserted...it feels like we are on a desert island compared to the people around us....finally the town of coolville.....closet town to us ...about 3 mile has gotten their electric on...but the rural areas haven't as of yet...we can see our electric lines running thru the fields beyond us and they have tree branches on top of them ....the electric company might make it out this way by Sunday.....guess they work on the more populated areas first which sure wouldn't be this country road we live on...OK,,,I need to stop and finish this later..going to heat some water to take a bath...wow...this is going to be fun,,I can tell..NOT..so I will finish this later....

WELL,,HERE IT IS FRIDAY ...BE DARK IN A LITTLE WHILE...AND STILL NO ELECTRIC...WE HAVE STILL BEEN HEARING IT COULD POSSIBLY,,,MAYBE BE SUNDAY THAT WE COULD BE GETTING IT ON....I DON'T SEE HOW...WE HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN ANY ELECTRIC TRUCKS ANYWHERES CLOSE IN OUR NECK OF THE WOODS....AND ANOTHER BIG STORM IS MOVING THIS WAY MONDAY....OH WELL..I GUESS IT COULD BE WORSE....AT LEAST THE ROADS ARE TRAVEL ABE IF YOU HAVE A 4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE WHICH WE DO BUT IT STILL DON'T MAKE ME WANT TO BE OUT ON THESE ROADS....NO SIRREEEEE......IT IS STILL A BONE CHILLING COLD....SUPPOSE TO GET IN THE SINGLE DIGITS TONIGHT AGAIN....AND I DON'T WANT TO BE CAUGHT OUT WALKING.....
THE FRESH LAYER OF SNOW WE GOT TODAY COVERED THE FRESH TRACKS FROM YESTERDAY SO EVERYTHING WAS PURE WHITE AGAIN...NO MAN OR ANIMAL TRACKS ANYWHERE TIL THE SUN CAME OUT TODAY...I SAT IN THE SUN IN FRONT OF THE WINDOW ..FELT JUST LIKE YOU WERE SITTING IN FRONT OF A FIRE...SO NICE AND WARM......STILL DIDN'T GET QUITE WARM ENOUGH TO MELT THIS ICE AND SNOW...MAYBE SUNDAY...THE TEMPERATURE IS SUPPOSE TO GET TO 43.....I WOULD JUST LIKE TO HAVE CLEAR ROADS....I AM GETTING HOUSETOSIS AND READY TO GO TO TOWN. CANT DO MUCH HERE THAT INVOLVES WORK WHEN I HAVE EXTENSION CORDS LAYING IN THREE DIFFERENT ROOMS AND HAVE TO HEAT WATER TO CLEAN WITH........AND WATCH WHERE YOU ARE STEPPING....IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO NICE IF THE BROADBAND COMMUNICATION WOULD HAVE STILL BEEN UP AND RUNNING AND YOU COULD COMMUNICATE WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD..SO BE IT.................
THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD WINTER FOR ME TO HAVE WENT SOUTH FOR A VISIT....I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A TRIP ACROSS COUNTRY BY TRAIN..I HEAR THEY ARE A NICE WAY TO TRAVEL...AT LEAST YOUR FEET IS CLOSER TO THE GROUND ....HOW I EVER GOT IN AN AIRPLANE IS BEYOND ME...BUT I HAVE AND I DID...
OK...I NEED TO SHUT THE OL PUTER DOWN ...GET ON HERE AND VENT A LITTLE BIT...PUT THESE IN SAVED FOLDERS AND SEE IF I CAN GET THEM OUT LATER.....
I WONDER IF WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A HOT SUMMER SINCE WE HAVE HAD A HELLIOUS WINTER.......SEEMS LIKE ONE FOLLOWS THE OTHER..........COURSE IT WAS RATHER DRY LAST SUMMER....NO RAIN TO AMOUNT TO ANYTHING DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS OR GARDEN TIME....I'M THINKING ABOUT A GARDEN ..SMALL ONE...ESPECIALLY TOMATOES...ME AND THE LA. SIS DID CAN A FEW QUARTS OF TOMATOES canned LAST YEAR..THE GOING AND GETTING THEM WAS MORE FUN THEN CANNING THEM I MUST ADMIT..OL MAN TRIED TO SELL US MELONS...IMAGINE THAT...AND THEY WERE WAY HIGHER AT THE TIME AT THE FIELDS WHERE THEY WERE BEING GROWN.THEN THE ONES AT THE MARKET WERE.....WELL..I GUESS MY COVER IS BLOWN SO I MUST GET OFF OF HERE FOR THE TIME BEING...WILL SAVE AND TRY TO SEND OR POST LATER.................



well..here it is Saturday morning,,,another sleepless night with out electric.....the generator kicked off a little after 9 so by that time we were settled in and decided to go to bed since it was already on its way down to 7 degrees...figured we would just restart it in the morning or maybe...just maybe if we were fortunate enough our electric would be back on but that was not the case...another cold morning..sun shining bright but the temperature is not high enough to melt the ice off the lines and branches and wherever else it has accumulated....TV is predicting we should have our electric back on by Sunday midnight just in time for the next round of winter weather to hit....hopefully it will go higher or lower and miss us this time...if not...it is only suppose to be snow.no ice...so that's good ...and if we get our electric on before it hits that will be even better.....
I just cant imagine what the pioneers and Abe Lincoln days were like..this crap of trying to read by oil light is for the birds....not bright enough for me..but then again I guess that's whats wrong with us ...compared to the pioneering days we have had it too good with electric,,running water ,,,cars ,gas and such....Guess if you never had it you aren't going to miss it .......but once you have been spoiled with everything its hard to go without....I feel like I did when I was growing up...sponge baths along with heating water for it and the dishes....maybe I could just put the dishes in the bath with me and wash dishes and take a bath at the same time..I can just picture that...CANT YOU.......yukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkky,,,,,,
OK...today's my oldest brothers birthday and I cant even email him....with the computer still down......so maybe I will have to call him...I think he is 71,,,I cant imagine making it to the seventies...in one sense it doesn't seem that far away yet in another it does.....happy birthday Elvin......
OK....I'm getting in a real shitty mood from being without electric for so long so guess I had better close for the time being on this little episode....maybe I will catch everyone by the spring thawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...
Its really quiet in the country this time of year ..not too many people out and about with it being so cold...so occasionally you will hear a pop like a gun shooting and know its a tree cracking and falling....then in the still of the country quietness you can hear the loud roaring of generators running with the houses that have them knowing they still don't have electric either.....


SUNDAY,,,MY HANNAH'S BIRTHDAY.......FEB 1ST
OK...here it is Sunday...i had the above posts in emails cause the silly computer would let me work off line just didn't have a Internet connection..now i do.....for the time being..they have our server up and running but we still don't have any electric..the electric guys said it would be Monday nite at the earliest....so another day of waiting....ok..i have to send this post...like right now ..because the generator has knocked me off of here three times already...cause it is bogging now on us ..think it has dirt in the line or carburetor.......so i will catch everyone when i get the electric back on............................... today is my oldest grdaughters birthday..she is seven going on seventeen ...she is a beauty....she had a small birthday party today with family and school friends and had a good time...she is my joy and sunshine...along with her sister who is younger.I have been blessed with these two little girls...and couldn't ask for more.I remember the day she was born...I have never seen a baby a few hours old actually grin...her dad picked her up and she actually grinned when he talked to her,,,,..i have a picture to prove it..which i may dig out at a later date when i make another post on my Hannah...........................HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNAH.......................GRANDMA LOVES YOU...will post a birthday picture later...

weehee..the dawning of Monday morning sure hasn't bought us any electric either....when it does come on it could be anytime ...morning noon or night....no warning....everything lights up that you had on when it went off..........cant wait...o.k..i need to jump off of here and try to clean my kitchen up or do dishes anyways....new way of heating water for the dishes is the coffee pot..takes a few minutes for the water to heat up but at least it is hot..so I'm going to go work on dishes........will catch everyone later..hopefully when the electric comes back on...the ol generator acts up and shuts down on me...and when it does I'm scrooged...so I'm outta here...
